THE SIMPSONS
The Simpsons is a famous American animated TV show created by Matt Groening. It started in 1989 and is still running today, making it one of the longest-running TV series ever. The show follows a chaotic middle-class family living in the fictional town of Springfield: Homer – the lazy, impulsive father who loves donuts and beer. Marge – the patient, caring mother with the big blue hair. Bart – the troublemaking 10-year-old son (skateboard, prank calls). Lisa – the smart, idealistic 8-year-old daughter (saxophone, top student). Maggie – the baby who usually just sucks her pacifier but is secretly very clever. The series is a satire: it jokes about family life, politics, religion, pop culture, capitalism, technology, and basically everything in modern society. It often exaggerates real-world problems to show how absurd they are.
